Motorola has had a pretty busy day. Not only did it introduce two new smartphones, a tiny Bluetooth headset and a speedy charger, it also launched its first Android Wear smartwatch and saw it sell out shortly thereafter. Moto’s not stopping there, though, because it’s pushed out updates to several of its Android apps as well.
Motorola is now rolling out updates to four of its custom apps: Touchless Control (now known as Moto Voice), Motorola Assist, Motorola Connect and Motorola Contextual services. The changelogs for each app update are:
Moto Voice
- Customize your own launch phrase to make Moto Voice respond only to you
- Voice command support for YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp
- Turn on Talk to Me and other Moto modes through voice commands
- Support for Moto Hint and Moto 360
- User experience improvements and bug fixes
Motorola Assist
- Driving and Home mode are now available on the moto g and moto e
- Important bug fixes
Motorola Connect
- Connect now supports Moto 360 and Powerpack Micro 1500
- Customize Motorola exclusive watch faces
- Find your device on a map
- Battery reminders to ensure your Powerpack is charged
Motorola Contextual Services
- Driving and Home mode are now available on the moto g and moto e
These updates are mostly prepping Motorola’s big apps for the arrival of the new Moto X, Moto 360 and Moto Hint, which is good news for prospective owners of that hardware since it means that the apps will be ready to go on day one.
