Despite an earlier report, the Oppo Find 9 is not getting unveiled in the first quarter of 2017?

Yesterday, we passed along a rumor that called for the Oppo Find 9 to launch __with the Snapdragon 835 chipset inside. Part of that rumor included a possible launch date for the handset sometime during the first quarter of 2017. This was big news because the Find 9 was originally thought to contain the Snapdragon 821 SoC under the hood. __with the newer chip from Qualcomm's camp inside, the Find 9 would be powered by a faster, and more energy efficient chipset.

As it turns out, the same Chinese news source responsible for the rumor of a Q1 unveiling of the Oppo Find 9, is the outfit that refutes talk of such an event taking place early in 2017. Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang, who has made a number of prescient calls, says that the wait for the Oppo Find 9 will be longer than expected. He recommends that those who don't want to wait any longer for the Find 9 go after the OnePlus 3T or the Vivo Xplay 6 instead.

Besides Jiutang, a weibo user named @Anunnaki who supposedly works at Qualcomm, also dismissed the rumor about a Q1 unveiling of the Find 9. Manufacturers are supposed to first start receiving the Snapdragon 835 chipset during the first quarter of next year, which means that the Oppo Find 9 might see the light of day during the first half of next year instead of during the first quarter. 

Besides the presence of the Snapdragon 835 SoC, we expect the Find 9 to use Oppo's own Vooc rapid recharge system instead of Quick Charge 4.0 even though the latter is supposed to go hand in hand with the Snapdragon 835. Oppo's home grown charging system will completely replenish a 2500mAh battery in just 15-minutes.
