Huawei Fit hits the US: affordable monochrome watch/fitness tracker with long battery life

Huawei Fit hits the US: affordable monochrome watch/fitness tracker long battery life
Huawei is pushing hard not only on the phone front these days, but also on wearables and other accessories, so today it is outing its fresh Huawei Fit smart watch that will be available today from retailers like BestBuy, Newegg and Amazon for $129.99.

This is a pretty decent price for what the new smart watch/fitness tracker combo is offering, so don't sniff at the monochrome screen. It means you will be getting much more battery life than on most color screen wearables, and that is the Achilles heel of this gizmos. Actually, the company touts 6 days of endurance __with normal use, and 30 days on standby, which is much more than the rest of the smart watch gang - thanks, monochrome. The Huawei Fit comes __with a round face, precise heart rate sensors that allow for all-day measurement, and a multi-axis motion sensor.

When it comes to fitness tracking, the Fit's accelerometer signals are deciphered automatically to decide whether you are walking, running, or lying still, so the watch can measure distance, steps, calories, duration quality of sleep. In addition, there is training guidance for various running distances and activity types. The Wear app on your iPhone or Android device can supply GPS coordinates to the accessory, too, if you have linked it with the watch via Bluetooth. Speaking of teeth, the Fit supports a Bluetooth 4.2 protocol, so the connection should be more stable and energy-efficient than before.

with the Fit being a smart watch, it is naturally inclined to provide alerts and notifications for calls and various messages, stemming from the warm connection with the phone in your pocket. It takes two hours to charge, and, last but not least, will be available in silver or grey versions for the body, with black, orange, or blue straps, which also come in wider, 20mm variation for larger hands. Any takers?
