Microsoft Store has deals on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift VR headsets

Cyber Monday is tomorrow, giving shoppers in fear of Black Friday withdrawals another chance to spend money on discounted products. Microsoft is continuing its weekend sale on the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets. __with the Vive, you get a $100 haircut in the form of a Microsoft Store gift code which takes the price down to $699.

Last week, transcripts from an investor conference call were released revealing that HTC has sold over 140,000 Vive headsets, bringing more than $112 million into HTC's coffers. Order now and the headset ships by December 2nd. The deal expires on November 28th at 11:59 PM.

While the $599 being asked by the Microsoft Store for the Oculus Rift is not a discounted price, those buying the headset will receive $100 in Oculus Store credit. You'll be able to start building your VR library __with both deals since you can use the $100 you save on the Vive to purchase content. The Oculus Rift deal also expires at 11:59 PM November 28th.

Speaking of games, both units come bundled with one title. The HTC Vive comes with "The Gallery – Episode 1: Call of the Starseed and Zombie Training Simulator." The Oculus Rift features "Lucky’s Tale" out of the box. Google is about to release Google Earth VR for the Vive. If you like using Earth on your phone or slate, you can just imagine what it would be like to use it in VR. As far as Oculus Rift is concerned, Xbox will soon bring streaming games to the headset.
