NY Times Crossword app for Android is now available from the Google Play Store

Are you one of those people who can't count a day as complete until the New York Times crossword puzzle is finished? While versions of the New York Times Crossword app have already been available for iOS and Windows Phone users, those __with Android powered devices have been shut out from the app. That is, until today. Right now, the New York Times Crossword app can be installed from the Google Play Store.

The app carries the same exact crossword found in the current day's paper, and will also allow you to try your hand at older Times crossword puzzles dating back 20-years. Considering that the New York Times crossword puzzle is considered the Gold Standard, you might not be terribly surprised at the pricing. A one year subscription is $39.95, or you can pay $6.95 a month. Obviously, you are best served by signing up for the year. The good news is that print or digital subscribers to the newspaper can receive a 50% discount.

If you don't feel like spending the money, there are mini-puzzles that are offered for free. And if you sign up for the seven day trial, you can get full access to everything that paid subscribers receive as you get to test out the app for a week. Since the app releases the next day's crossword puzzle at 10pm ET the evening before the paper is distributed, subscribers get a big head start on getting the puzzle out of the way.

If you're a big fan of the New York Times Crossword, click on the appropriate sourcelink to install the app ( iOS| Android| Windows)
