Google Assistant is among the most advanced personal digital assistants running on smartphones. Starting this year, the AI will make the jump to other platforms, Google confirmed at CES.
The first platform to get the Google Assistant in the coming months is Android TV. It will be rolled out as part of an update on supported TVs and set-top boxes powered by the same Android TV.
With Google Assistant, users will be able to voice their commands to the TV instead of typing or browsing through menus. Several commands will be available when Google Assistant launches on Android TV like: Play content, Discover content, Get answers, Set the right mood (“Dim the lights”), Get ready for your day (“How long will it take to get to work”).
