Just as rumored, ZTE today launched its first Android Wear smartwatch, and it is landing on none other than the Un-carrier T-Mobile's network to boot. Called ZTE Quartz (model number ZW10), it runs on Android Wear 2.0, and sports a large 1.4” AMOLED display __with 400x400 resolution, covered __with Gorilla Glass protection.
The new smartwatch looks like a regular timepiece, aiming to appeal to a broader audience, with a metal bezel around the screen, and a small button on the upper right side. Thankfully, it can be used as a standalone wearable device with the ability to make calls or text right from your wrist, as it's hooked up to T-Mobile's network. There is a large for smartwatch standards 500mAh battery that makes the clock tick, and the Quartz runs on Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 2100 platform, dedicated to the needs of wearable devices, so always-on connectivity and smart power management can be expected.
In fact, ZTE promises up to three days of battery life on a charge, and as these things go, this is a commendable achievement for such a well-appointed clever timepiece. In addition, you can outfit ZTE's smartwatch with swappable wrist bands and plethora of watch faces to customize for every taste. ZTE is un-leashing the Quartz precious for just $192 exclusively on T-Mobile, which, compared to its direct competitors seems to be a bargain. Any takers?
