If said sources are to be believed, a total of 550,000 units of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been pre-ordered in South Korea by Sunday. That's only two days after pre-orders initially opened. That's a massive 150,000 more than the Note7 before it, and whooping 5.5 times more than the Galaxy S7.
This is probably thanks to the high potential demand of the phone, as retail stores have received many pre-orders as well. Additionally, the country's three big carriers have launched massive marketing campaigns alongside Samsung, boosting pre-orders even further.
What must be kept in mind here is that, although the Galaxy S8 performs pretty well in South Korea, that doesn't guarantee the same reception in Western markets. We'll have to wait and see how the new Samsung flagship fares against the competition there, once it launches on April 21.
